Naples Grande Beach Resort - Naples, FL

3 Stars

9/2/2022 - 9/5/2022

Backstory: Anniversary vacation!! We enjoy vacationing to the west coast of Florida for our anniversaries. For the past 2 years we've traveled to Marco Island (link) but we decided to go north of Marco Island to Naples for the first time.

Parking: We got in around midnight and valet service was still available. We decided to self park but the guy running valet was phenomenal. He was very personable and helped us unload. After we checked in there was bellhop available so he loaded our bags on a cart and brought them to our room as well. Grade A customer service.

Check In: The front desk staff were friendly and the check in process was a breeze.

Room: We stayed in the Signature Gulf View Suite for $662/nt, definitely pricey. Although spacious with a beautiful balcony, we can only give the room a 3 out of 5 because at that price point we expected the room to be more polished. It has a nice but old school feel.

The Good: Spacious layout with plenty of room inside and out if you wanted to entertain. There plenty of storage space and a bathroom open in the hallway for guests. There are 2 balconies, both with a nice view of the pool area and Gulf.

The not so Good: First off, it’s not beachfront. The beach is a 15min walk away therefore you don’t have a beachview nor can you hear the waves from the balconies. Also, although spacious, there was plenty of redundant space that could have been out to better use. For instance, there are essentially two wet bar areas. That entire space could have been combined to include a full kitchen or at least kitchenette with dining area. Most rooms at this price point have a walk-in shower with separate soaking or jetted tub. This room had the shower/bath combo tub. The bathtub was jetted but looked old with that off white color and it was peeling. Lastly, I noticed quite a few wires exposed and this is because some of the lights were not hard wired to a light switch. Instead they were plugged into an outlet with the old school on/off foot pedal.

Overall, decent room but overpriced.

Video Walkthrough of the Room (Signature Gulf View Suite):

Beach: Lets start with the walk to the beach. It is a verified 15min walk or you can ride the tram which is constantly running. We decided to walk for exercise and to time the walk. Once you get to the beach there is a beachside restaurant and an area to rent beach lunge equipment. Chairs are free but you have to rent an umbrella ($20) or a cabana ($30).

The actual beach is ok. I'm normally a big fan of Gulf Coast beaches because they are known for white sand and beautiful water. This beach didn't meet the normal Gulf Coast beach standard as far as appeal but we still enjoyed and took some great pics.

Walk to the Beach:

Pool: This area is where all the fun is. Live DJ and performances. You can watch from the balcony on the room but once you go down to where the action is its a cool and fun vibe. We also had amazing service at the bar where we order a juicy burger and drinks. The bartender actually allowed my wife to order an entire drink just to taste, lol.

Check Out: No issues at checkout. They are still old school where they come around the night before checkout and slide your folio under your door, lol.

Conclusion: Overall, not the best anniversary location we've vacationed at but it was great to get one-on-one time with each other and enjoy some new experiences together. There are much better options out there at the same price point or lower.
